People who are not very familiar with meditation think that it’s difficult or something that only yogis do. But that’s not the case. Meditation can be a part of everybody's life. 🧘

Zen meditation, a traditional Buddhist practice, is one of the simplest techniques of meditations where the focus is counting the breath.
By counting the breath sitting in stillness, we make an intention to bring calmness into the body and the mind. 😌
Zen teachings say that the only moment we have is the present. If we’re always living in the past or future, we’re missing out on life.
We definitely don’t want you to miss out on life!

So we’re here to encourage you to include meditation into your life with our simple Zen Meditation Challenge Series. 🧘
In this 10-day series, you’ll practice this simple technique day after day, and invite yourself to the experience of being in the present moment.
Don’t expect to reach enlightenment at the end of these 10 days.
What you can expect is a calmer state of mind, and the start of a new habit. 😌
So here is how it works exactly;
Ideally you’ll sit on the floor, with legs crossed. Preferably with a cushion under the hips for comfort. Unlike other types of meditation, you’ll keep your eyes open with a very soft focus in front of you.
Then you’ll begin counting your breath, from 1 to 10.
This act of simply watching your breath and counting will carry you into a state of calmness like no other. ✔️
The trick in counting the breaths will be noticing the moments of distraction and not being frustrated at yourself when that happens. And trust us, it will happen.

When that happens, you’ll simply start counting again. As you go on, if you can allow those frustrations to fade away, and come back to your breath, your mind will slowly feel lighter… 😊
So when you reach 10 you start over at 1.
If you lose count, you come back to 1.
If you suddenly find yourself at 16, you come back to 1.
And it goes like this, for a few rounds, or a determined amount of time you spared for your meditation.
That’s it!
And then you’ll do it over and over again for 10 days in a row.
Your goal will never be perfection, it will simply be an intention to stay in the present moment, and try your best to show up everyday.
